The technology campus for the Shanghai Futures Exchange is located in the Zhang Jiang High-Tech Park, a new business district approximately 21km from the high-rises of Pudong in Shanghai. The complex proposes a sort of decomposed high-rise, transforming functions that would normally be found within a tower into a campus complex.

The enormous size of the project becomes apparent quickly - its site measures ten hectares (420x230m), bordered to the North by a main artery, Weisan Road, and to the South by the Zhaungjiabang River.

The campus includes fourteen separate buildings which total 94000m² in surface area, and which house production, research, development, and recreational activities. These functions are organized along pedestrian passages: some paved and some more landscaped, the organization meant to lightly recall the lines of electronic circuits joining different parts of a microprocessor.

The campus is separated into three constructed bands: (1) one containing office spaces (50000m²) in a rectangular volume divided into five sections by entry lobbies; one central band withpresentation buildings - the welcome center used for events and exhibits (4500m²), the sports complex (3500m²), and the data center (10000m²) to the West; and a series of smaller, organically arranged buildings located in the park area (in close proximity to the river to the South) containing the conference center and its hotel tower (12500m²) next to the entry plaza, and three buildings for training and research (5500m²).
