The restructuring project retains the three facades of the original building by opening the portico entrance to the square, enhancing the waiting room lookout on the first floor and creating a new terrace on the roof. The new hub is designed as a single volume facilitating connections between the subway, regional trains and the funicular.

As part of this operation, the large glass cover of about 1,000 m² above the platform area creates a generous and bright space for train arrivals and departures thanks to its graceful use of natural lighting.

The platform space, a large square of approximately 33 m on one side, has been designed as an exhibition space for travelers. Numerous photographic installations attached to the side walls tell the archaeological route traversed by the trains arriving at the station.
