Situated on the Posillipo hillside in the residential district of Naples West, it is in the complex of San Luigi which reside the famed Pontifica Facoltà Teologica dell'Italia Meridionale university facilities, otherwise known as the Jesuit University.
With its breathtaking views on the Bay of Naples, the project proposes for this complex a new cultural center that will house a library, exhibition rooms, studios, a grand auditorium, rooftop decks, gardens, and a restaurant looking toward Mount Vesuvius.
The functions of the university are also to be enlarged and improved, with the cultural center at-times strategically overlapping with the campus in order to give visitors a glimpse into the rather protected world of Jesuit teachings.
The site's existing 10000m² is preserved, while the elements of the auditorium, panoramic restaurant, and additional classroom spaces involve the construction of new volumes. The complex includes 18800m² of usable space spread over ten levels.
