This new sustainable district proposes a new entry port to the East of the City of Naples. Its chief aim is to create a new environmentally-minded neighborhood for a once bustling industrial park, one that is respectful of its context and which might set an example for the rest of the city.
The seven hectare neighborhood is composed of a network of mixed-use programs laid out over a series of urban islands and stitched together by a network of non-invasive infrastructural elements such as roads with semi-permeable paving, a railway spur connected to regional trains, bike paths, etc.
Approximately 70000m² of floor area is divided into housing, public amenities, commercial zones, and offices, with the island concept helping to minimize the built density of the parcel.
The majority of the seven housing towers are situated atop a foundational element containing a green roof, which itself links houses a majority of the public amenities servicing the district: library, movie theater complex, shops, restaurants, kiosks, etc.
